 Do you ever wake up feeling blah....or in a mood you just can't shake? I certainly have had my share of these morning funks and who knows what causes them - bad dreams, negative thoughts on your mind as you drift off, watching the news before you sleep, a fight with your man - so many possibilities!! 

I have been using a ritual that is incredibly easy, clears this energy, creates a joyful space and totally WORKS!!! Whooohooo - and I am soooo going to share it with you because life is precious life and you deserve to enjoy every minute!

To get started immediately here's what you do:

1) Light a white candle for 2 hrs and ask that all disappointment be burned up and purified

2) Light a yellow candle for joy or a pink candle for love or (or both) for another couple of hours. Why not? Everyone can use a heavy dosing of these two powerful vibrations:-)

Is Your Relationship Suffering From The Big Lie?

This morning as I entered the Agape sanctuary I was slightly bummed to discover Michael Beckwith was out of town – my soul was looking forward to hearing his passionate voice. However, my disappointment turned to delicious excitement as it was announced that Don Miguel Ruiz (The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom, A Toltec Wisdom Book) would be our guest speaker I LOVE this man’s work and now I was going to get to hear him speak – woohooooo!!!

I found him to be an amazing messenger of love. I am inspired to bring his message to you, my peeps, in hopes of enriching you and your relationship.

So, let’s start with an invitation – Will you help me change your relationship?

The relationship you have with your mate starts with the relationship you have with yourself… Each of us is an angel with a unique message to give to the world.

So what is the message you deliver to yourself and then your love? Is your message clouded by the voice in your head that is judging and running your life?

Most people have a conflicted tape running in their head - what is truth vs. what is lies. The biggest lie is that we are not perfect. So if you feel “less than” what message are you giving your partner? How is this affecting the giving and receiving between the two of you?

For a healthy coupling we need to love ourselves first because we cannot give what we don’t have and it's not fair to look to someone else to give this to us.

Here are some simple truths to live by:

• All my happiness depends on me.

• I am responsible for the decisions and choices I make.

• I don’t blame anyone for where I’m at and what’s happened to me in my life.

• It’s time for forgiveness and letting go.

• Right here, right now, I live in gratitude.

It is impossible to change another person…but how inspiring to change yourself and then watch the dynamics of your relationship change as you begin to love yourself.

Relationship Advice: How to Create More Time for Your Relationship

Is your life so crazy you can’t carve out enough time for you and your man to get cozy? In today’s fast paced world it can be challenging to find the time to just hang out together. And then when you do your mind is racing with all that you have to do. If this describes your relationship you may want to take a look at these suggestions for simplifying your life to create more "hang with my honey" time.

Gabbing – many people spend so much time talking about how they have no time that they could actually accomplish quite a bit with the time they spend venting. Make a game out of it and notice how often you get to gabbing about your “to do” list.

Create Boundaries – we all have those friends or colleagues that can talk till the cows come home. Put some boundaries on your conversations by letting them know up front how much time you’ve got – that way it won’t seem rude when you excuse yourself and you won’t be cutting out precious time with your man who’s waiting for you.

Email – wow can these ever suck you in and waste your time! If you are spending more than 10 minutes in the morning and 10 in the afternoon or evening on personal emails  it’s too much.   Wouldn’t you rather be cuddling on the couch with your hot blooded man than sitting in front of cyberspace?

Create a Mind Mantra: "I have all the time I need to get everything done I need to." Seems simple I know, but by saying this you’ll be sending out the intention to the universe and things will beautifully align to support your mantra and create more time for you!

When you follow these suggestions you will create more time for the important things in your life - joy, love and personal space.  

 

 

Empowerment Technique for Living Your Best Life

Spring is here and it's so exciting! A new life, new joy, new adventures, a new you! 

All for the taking if you want it. Time to get passionate about becoming the best version of you! 

There is no better way to attract what you want than with visualizing "As if" - what do I mean by that? I mean act as though you already have what you want - breathe it, see it, feel it - engage all the senses. 

Because I wish for you all that your heart can hold - I want to share with you a simple yet mighty technique to give your visualizations rocket power. If you begin with Gratitude Breathing you will not only  clear your mind for laser focus you will also be in such an expansive state whatever you visualize will become exponentially more powerful. 

Here's how you do it:

Breathe into your heart and hold for 6 counts. Exhale thru your solar plexis and hold for 6 counts.  As you inhale say breathe, as you exhale say relax all the while focusing on something you appreciate. Do this for a few minutes and you'll be at peace. This process was developed by Heart Math Institute to bring your heart into resonance.  

 While you are doing this it's important to see yourself surrounded by white light.  Imagine a spotlight flooding your body, or maybe you're encased in a bubble of light or you may see light traveling up one side of your body and down the other.  White light is a very high vibration - it will dissipate darkness, protect and empower you. 

Once you're at peace and full of gratitude start your visualization of the life you want - FEEL it, TASTE it..CLAIM it! Further strengthen your intention by repeating this mantra as you vision, “Spring 2009 is MINE!”

Relationship Advice: Start Laughing!

I LOVE to laugh, don’t you? It’s so energizing and exhilarating and liberating. And I also LOVE yoga for its balance and peace and strength giving gifts. Both have been godsends for me over the past ten years. So when I heard about laughter yoga a few years ago I thought what a brilliant marriage! 

Even though this may not be a new concept to many of you, I think it has so much merit I wanted to bring it back into your radar. Oprah did a segment on this a while back - the show featured her make-up artist participating in a yoga laughter class and going from skeptic to believer in it's ability to lift stress from the soul. It works!!

This perfect pairing was developed by an Indian doctor searching for a way to bring the benefits of laughing, and yogic breathing to modern man. Years ago people used to laugh 20 minutes a day – now the average person cackles less than 5 minutes a day. What a huge difference! And it’s showing up in our level of stress, disease and relationship happiness.

As you may or may not know, laughing is quite the healthy cocktail for your body. Tons of hormones and chemicals are released producing an amazingly positive effect on our system – lifting depression, sadness, stress and anxiety to name a few. Added bonus, yogic breathing clears the exact same culprits. Whoohoo!

So you’re probably wondering, how the heck do you practice laughter yoga? Good question and the answer is It’s akin to contagious laughing. Anyone can guffaw without reason and laughter exercises almost always lead to real mirth, especially when in a group.

My first experience was in a group of 6 – all strangers but one. We each had to voice a situation that was stressing us out and then everyone reacts to what’s been said by breaking into loud billowing laughter and before you know it you are laughing at the crazy sounds surrounding you – the snorting and cackling is hilarious. The end result is fantastic -your problem seems miles away.

No drugs or alcohol, just clean fun – a great reminder we all need to spend more time playing. So plan a play-date with your mate and head on over to the nearest laughter yoga studio you can find – a beautiful bonding experience for your relationship.

Relationship Problems: Is Your Heart Chakra Happy?

Are your chakras causing relationship problems? You may be thinking "chakra what?" And then doubly curious what it means to make it happy. If this is you - no worries! Many people are unaware of the chakra system that lives inside and guides us.

 First off, look at the diagram to the left - you'll see there are 7 chakras going from the base of our spine to the crown of our head.  These are energy centers that receive, assimilate and express our life force.

These energy vortexes interact with our psyche and if we have polluted thoughts these sites become

  clogged or stuck and impede the natural flow of energy - in other words we become out of alignment with who we really are.

The heart chakra has to do with self-acceptance, self-love and the ability to love others.

If you have unresolved pain from past issues of the heart or your current relationship is disappointing and less than luscious at the moment you will find that you are out of balance and the goal is to get back to a healthy loving state.

Ask yourself these questions to figure out if your heart chakra needs some help:

1) Do you love yourself?

2) Are you able to forgive past hurts from others?

3) Do you carry a lot of grief in your heart?

If the answer is yes to any of the above then include these affirmations in your daily health regime:

1) "I am worthy of love"

2) "I release my pain and forgive the past.  I am free to love." 

3) " I am loving to myself and others."

Take action to improve your heart chakra by:

1) Singing.

2) Playing with a child or pet.

3) Taking a walk in nature.

4) Figuring out what brings you joy and happiness and doing it!

5) Phoning or spending time with someone you love.

Tuning up your chakras is no different than tuning up your car. Just as a car experiences wear and tear so does the human body. Our bodies and emotions are challenged with stress daily - it makes sense we would need to do something to bring ourselves back into harmonious alignment.

So do something daily to nurture your heart so that it consistently sings sweetly:-)

Relationship Advice: Throw Out The Rules!

After coaching and interviewing lots of ladies, I find many are caught in the conundrum that labels women who embrace their sexuality as slutty. Welcome to “Society Says.” You’ve been told to “Let the man take the lead.” Many women can’t get past this “rule” and stay stuck never to realize their desires.

 The message compounds if you’ve been reared with any staunch religious dogma. You probably have the good girl vs. bad girl inner conflict going on coupled with gobs of guilt for having even the tiniest of naughty thoughts. Well something’s got to give – it’s time to take the bull by the horns and stop waiting for your man to step up to the plate.

Here are 3 tips for freedom:
-    Get clear and make a list of the limiting “rules” you’ve been living by.
-    Give yourself permission to release these beliefs that are not in alignment with your desires.
-    Decide what you want in your romantic relationship – make a list of your top 3 desires.
-    Map out a romantic roadmap with time frames as to when you will implement your desires.
-    Feel good about yourself and live, love and laugh with total freedom!

Congratulations, you are now committed to giving yourself permission to live authentically!
